The pandemic and the need to redesign my module for online delivery was the perfect opportunity to change it and improve it.
But how? How do we know what works? What does it even mean that something ‘work’?
Going back to the beginning sounded like a good idea. What did I want my students to gain from my module? Knowledge, of course, but I also wanted to inspire them, to get them excited about gaining that knowledge, to feed the curiosity that brought them to University to start with, I want them to acquire the confidence to challenge current knowledge, after all, this is how the greatest discoveries have been made. I wanted them to ask questions.
So, I know the WHAT, I am missing the HOW. Finding out how, became yet another opportunity, the opportunity to jump out of the box where we keep students and the box where we keep teachers and work together. We are constantly been put inside of boxes, we constantly put things and people inside of boxes, but we need to get out of them to see the bigger picture.
This project started from the desire to remove the barrier that sometime exist between learners and teachers and work together because learning is a collaboration.
It started with a question, I have asked my students if they were interested in taking part in a Teaching and Learning project looking at novel approaches to teaching during a pandemic, 9 students answered YES and this web site is the results.
Read through the blog posts to find out more about what we learnt.
